Oil / Oil Cable box bushing
The Oil / Oil range of cable box bushings are designed in accordance with EN50336, this is an updated version of the historical standards BS2562 and BS6435. All bushings manufactured by BTRAC also comply with IEC 60137. A range of bushings are available up to 36kV 4 000A. If higher voltages or currents are required we can offer resin impregnated condenser bushings to meet your exact requirements (please see relevant product page).
This range of bushings is typically used within a disconnecting chamber (before the cable termination box) or within a cable box but typically in an oil / shrouded arrangement. The cable box shrouding would typically be a cold fit boot or heat-shrink termination.
It is important for the transformer designer to use cable box bushings as they have been specifically designed for use within indoor applications, this ensures that there electrical characteristics (specifically creepage distances) are based on their working conditions. If outdoor bushings are used within a cable box it will result in a physically excessive termination arrangement.
