Condenser Cable box bushing
The condenser range of cable box bushings are generally designed in accordance with EN50336 and interchangeable with the equivalent porcelain cable box bushing. The bushings are available for a range of insulating mediums such as oil / compound and air. All bushings manufactured by BTRAC also comply with IEC 60137. A range of bushings are available up to 52kV 3 300A. Due to the manufacturing techniques each design of condenser bushing is usually manufactured to the customers exact requirement (there is not a standard range of bushings), this allow us to tailor the design of the bushing to your exact requirement and control important criteria such as the partial discharge values for the bushings (this is not controlled in the standard porcelain style cable box bushing).
It is important for the transformer designer to use cable box bushings as they have been specifically designed for use within indoor applications, this ensures that there electrical characteristics (specifically creepage distances) are based on their working conditions. If outdoor bushings are used within a cable box it will result in a physically excessive termination arrangement.
